Bears hearing the boos, loudly

In the preseason, former Bears quarterback Kyle Orton heard a sound in Denver with which he’s very familiar.

Booing.

But now they’re cheering him in Colorado. In Chicago, they’re still booing the Bears.

At halftime, the up-and-down Cardinals are winning by 24 at Soldier Field, 31-7. Near the end of the half, a field-goal try by Bears kicker Robbie Gould was partially blocked. Antrel Rolle returned the ball 52 yards from eight yards deep in the end zone, and Neil Rackers completed the six-point swing with a 43-yard field goal after quarterback Kurt Warner quickly got the team into field-goal range.

And so the home team heard it loudly from the paying customers while leaving the field for intermission.

A week after a Delhommian six-turnover day, Warner has completed 17 of 22 passes for 189 yards and four touchdowns, with no turnovers. For the Bears, Jay Cutler has completed 13 of 17 for 175 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. But Chicago has been unable to sustain drives -- and more importantly unable to stop the Cardinals.

A loss would put the Bears three games behind the 7-1 Vikings, and Chicago and Minnesota have yet to play this year.
