BENGALS PUT JOSEPH ON IR

As the 1-9-1 Bengals try to avoid landing the No. 1 overall draft pick and the $35 million or more in guaranteed money paid to an unproven player that goes along with it, they’ll have one less player to aid the effort. Cornerback Johnathan Joseph becomes the fourth starter to land in injured reserve, due to a foot injury that flared up earlier in the week. And as the Bengals prepare for their next game, at home against Baltimore, they’ll likely be without starting quarterback Carson Palmer, again. On Friday, coach Marvin Lewis said that Palmer has only a “slim chance” of playing, and is probably out. Without Palmer, 2-13-1 is looking like a real possibility. After playing the Ravens, the Bengals travel to Indianapolis, host Washington, go to Cleveland, and host Kansas City. That said, the Lions will have to win three of their final six games in order to dump the Bengals into the worst overall record, and resulting No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Hooray?
