BIG BEN QUOTE SHEET OMITS X-RAY EXCHANGE

Well, well, well. We reported this morning that, on Wednesday, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent an X-ray on his ribs/back. Roethslisberger declined to comment on the matter when asked about the report during a Thursday press conference by Gregg Rosenthal of NBCSports.com and Rotoworld.com. Specifically, Roethlisberger was given an opportunity to deny the report, and he opted not to do so. Curiously, no mention of the exchange appears within the two-page quote sheet distributed by the league in the wake of the press conference. We’re not sure why the exchange was omitted. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tells us that neither the teams nor the league are responsible for the information contained in the quote sheets. Instead, the P.R. staff at the Media Center selects the quotes. This year, the effort is headed by Scott Berchtold of the Bills.
