We now know what it costs an NFL player to kick one of his peers in the groin.

Vikings defensive end Brian Robison told Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press that he owes the league $20,000 as punishment for sending his foot into Packers tackle T.J. Lang’s crotch last Sunday. Robison apologized for the act shortly after the game and insists that he did not mean to kick Lang where he did. Lang accepted the apology earlier this week.

The intent to kick Lang anywhere was probably enough to justify a fine and, all things considered, this isn’t too hefty a penalty for the action. Had Robison not apologized publicly, there might have been a different reaction from the league when they weighed discipline for a pretty indefensible shot from Robison.
