As the Browns shift from a 3-4 back to a 4-3, they need defensive linemen and linebackers who can perform in the new alignment.
And they’re keeping one of the guys whom they signed for their old defense.
Derreck Robinson has re-signed with the Browns. The team announced the move today.
A defensive end in the 3-4 alignment, the 295-pounder most likely will move inside to tackle for new coordinator Dick Jauron, and possibly gain at least five pounds to get to once-unheard-of-but-now-seemingly-mandatory-minimum of three bills.
Robinson joined the Browns in 2009. He previously played for the Chargers and the Dolphins.
