In a move that will garner slightly less attention than the news that Brady Quinn is back in the starting lineup, the Cleveland Browns today announced the signing of linebacker Josh Stamer.
The Browns were in need of a linebacker after placing Eric Barton on injured reserve. Although the Browns brought in linebacker Rocky Boiman for a workout, the signing of Stamer would seem to indicate that Boiman isn’t in the team’s immediate plans.
Stamer played all 16 games for the Titans last year, starting one. But he’s been out of work since the Titans cut him just before the start of the regular season. From 2003 to 2007 he played for the Bills, mostly on special teams.
