What looked inevitable but was often denied has now happened.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Buccaneers are making a move at quarterback, replacing starter Josh Freeman with rookie Mike Glennon.
Coach Greg Schiano said Sunday he never thought about replacing Freeman, but apparently he reconsidered.
Freeman’s own play through three games was enough to justify the move (45.7 percent completions, more interceptions than touchdowns, 59.3 rating, 0-3 record), but this one has much bigger repercussions. For a quarterback who could have played his way into a big contract, Freeman’s now forced to watch a third-round rookie take over, and ponder the market opportunity he just squandered.
