In news that is music to the ears of fantasy footballers, Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle) is active for Sunday’s game at the Jets, the team’s website said this morning.
Johnson practiced on Friday and appeared on track to play at New York, and the announcement of the inactives was simply the final hurdle to clear.
As expected, Johnson will start vs. the Jets, according to the Lions.
While Johnson will play, the Lions will sit safety Don Carey, tight end Joseph Fauria, linebacker Travis Lewis, quarterback Kellen Moore, cornerback Cassius Vaughn, right tackle LaAdrian Waddle and defensive end Larry Webster, the team said.
According to the team, Garrett Reynolds will start in place of Waddle, who has a calf injury.
