There’s nothing like having a guy on the roster who rushed for more than 3,500 yards in two seasons to keep a starting tailback from milking an injury.
Or, for that matter, a rookie who churned out 119 yards when given an opportunity to take the lead last weekend.
Bengals running back Cedric Benson will test out his injured hip in practice on Friday, in order to help the team decide whether Benson will be able to go on Sunday when the Browns come to town.
If Benson can’t play, the Bengals should be fine. They’ve got Bernard Scott (he’s the aforementioned rookie), and they’ve got Larry Johnson.
