Chargers Eyeing Safeties

In a move that suggests the San Diego Chargers may be looking to draft a safety, the AFC West team has brought in three safeties for official visits. According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, the Chargers’ pre-draft meet-and-greet list includes official visits with Oregon safety Patrick Chung, Marshall safety C.J. Spillman and Missouri safety William Moore. All of those visits have been or will be concluded by April 17, the last day NFL teams can conduct pre-draft visits. The Chargers have Eric Weddle and Clinton Hart under contract. Weddle led the Chargers with 127 tackles last season, and led the team in tackles during the playoffs. Hart recorded 63 tackles last season. Of the two safeties, only Weddle registered an interception, though, picking off one pass last season.
