Domonique Foxworth on Ravens’ cuts: “It sucks”

Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth was one of the most instrumental players in getting a deal worked out with the owners. Now that the NFL is back to business, Foxworth isn’t happy with all the work that’s being done.

The news that Ravens receiver Derrick Mason, tight end Todd Heap, running back Willis McGahee and defensive tackle Kelly Gregg are all on the way out was met with disappointment from Foxworth.

It sucks if they don’t re-sign them, I’m going to miss those guys, but fortunately they’re going to release them before free agency and you can add their names to this free agency bonanza that’s going on,” Foxworth told BaltimoreRavens.com.

It’s possible that any of the four players could be back with the Ravens on a new contract, as Foxworth notes. But the idea that there’s a free agency bonanza coming may not be correct. Considering their ages (Mason is 37, Heap is 31, McGahee is 29 and Gregg is 34), I wouldn’t be so sure that any of them will get a contract that could accurately be described as a bonanza.
