Most if not all NFL starting quarterbacks have a weekly press conference. This week, Vikings starter Brett Favre didn’t.
Sure, it’s unlikely that he’ll play in Sunday’s regular-season finale, due to a concussion suffered in Week 15. But as Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press surmises, Favre possibly ditched the session so he wouldn’t have to talk about his $50,000 fine for lying to the league in the Jenn Sterger investigation (folks, you can engage in semantics all you want, but lying is what the league concluded that he did).
After Sunday’s game, Favre likely will say very little, if anything, to the media. Sure, players are required to be available once during the practice week and on game day, but if the league merely fined Favre $50,000 for lying to security personnel investigating possible sexual harassment, the league most likely won’t do anything to Favre if he gives the media a parting-shot middle finger.
