If the Miami Dolphins are going to to beat the Browns, they’ll have to do it without two of their top receivers.
Brandon Marshall was inactive with a hamstring injury and the team has now lost Brian Hartline as well. Hartline hurt his finger during Sunday’s game and will not return to action in Miami. That leaves the team with Davone Bess, Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore at wide receiver for the rest of a game that they tied at 10 with just over 10 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
Chad Henne connected on a touchdown toss to Anthony Fasano to draw the Dolphins even with the visitors from Cleveland. The throw capped an impressive 11-play, 80-yard drive that featured several plays out of the Wildcat. We could be seeing more of that down the stretch because of the shortage of wideouts.
The Wildcat isn’t the only weapon the Dolphins have at their disposal if this game goes down to the wire. Dan Carpenter set a franchise record with a 60-yard field goal in the first half, which means that the team will have a chance to win the game so long as they can get the ball into Browns territory before a potential game-winning kick.
