We were surprised about the response last week to our post about Fox Sports fabricating newspaper headlines about Jay Cutler.
It was a fun story to write, but not one that we ultimately thought would interest all our readers. Instead, it was the most read and commented on story on the site last week.
Perhaps everyone just likes to see a big media entity screw up so blatantly and confirm our worst fears. Give Fox Sports credit for at least admitting that they were in the wrong.
Underrated studio host Curt Menafee got the honors of apologizing Sunday. He said that the analyst Moose Johnston was told by the production team that the headlines shown were real, “while in fact they were not.”
Translation: It wasn’t Johnston’s fault.
