Interest In Ivy Grows

Many of you think that we mention former West Virginia quarterback Pat White from time to time because I live in West Virginia and attend West Virginia University football games. OK, so you’re right. But why stop on the offensive side of the ball? A defensive guy who played college ball in Morgantown is generating a lot of interest, too. More and more teams are focusing on linebacker Mortty “My Wallet’s Gone” Ivy as the draft approaches. Though he primarily projects as an inside linebacker at the NFL level, he’s viewed as a guy who can play outside linebacker as well -- just as he did in WVU’s 3-3-5 defensive alignment. Ivy also is viewed as a potential impact player on special teams. And this isn’t just puffing from a Mountaineer homer; the Sporting News pre-draft issue names Ivy as the No. 1 sleeper pick in the draft.
