Jadeveon Clowney thinks his knee is finally ready, and so is he.

The first overall pick in the NFL Draft would be playing in just his third game of the year if he returns this week, after some fits-and-starts attempts in coming back from knee surgery.

That’s the goal,” Clowney said, via John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “We’re working on that. I feel better. I’ve been working every day to get back on the field.

“I feel a lot more confident in my knee. I feel like I can do a lot more than I did when I came back for the Tennessee game.”

Clowney said the soreness in his knee has subsided, and even though he’s not 100 percent, he’s closer to being able to help.

“I’m at a point now where I feel good, and I’m happy to be back out there,” he said.

The Texans will be glad to hear that, as injuries have kept him from making any degree of impact this season, as he’s still waiting for his first sack.
