Late in June, former Colts and Packers center Jeff Saturday signed with IMG as part of an effort to move into television now that his playing days have come to an end.

He didn’t have to wait long for a gig. Saturday will be joining ESPN as an analyst on its plethora of studio shows and, according to the Indianapolis Star, a formal announcement of his role is expected on Wednesday.

“Offensive linemen make some of the best analysts because they understand the nuances of the game and they typically have fun personalities -- Jeff definitely fits this mold,” senior coordinating producer Seth Markman, who oversees ESPN’s NFL studio shows, said. “It’s also no accident he played center for two NFL MVPs in Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers.”

While Saturday’s play certainly helped both quarterbacks, Curtis Painter can likely attest that there was more to it than just who was snapping the ball. We’ll be able to start hearing Saturday discuss what those things were later this month when he begins making appearances on the network.
