With Santonio Holmes re-signing, Plaxico Burress arriving and today’s news that Derrick Mason could be next, the Jets have made multiple moves to shore up the receiver position. And that lets veteran Jets receiver Jerricho Cotchery know where he stands.

“It’s time to move on,” Cotchery told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Cotchery said he assumes the arrival of Mason will be the move that ensures his own departure.

“If he passes the physical, he’s on the team and I won’t be,” Cotchery said.

Cotchery isn’t willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Jets, which means he’ll take his chances with free agency. He could get that chance as soon as today.
