Last week we learned that agent Drew Rosenhaus was telling teams that the Jets would cut cornerback Lito Sheppard.
Today it happened.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported, and a league source confirmed to PFT, that the Jets have cut Sheppard.
Sheppard would have received a $10 million bonus if he had been on the roster on the fifth day of the league year, so it’s no surprise that he was released.
The 28-year-old Sheppard played in 11 games for the Jets in 2009, starting nine of them.
