The Panthers will officially be without their top two tailbacks on Sunday vs. Chicago.
Jonathan Stewart (knee) is among the team’s inactives, the club said this morning. Stewart was doubtful on the injury report, but coach Ron Rivera left the door open ever so slightly for him on Friday, noting the veteran tailback made strides in practice.
In addition, the Panthers have also made DeAngelo Williams (ankle) inactive. Williams had already been ruled out.
With Williams and Stewart out, rookie Darrin Reaves will start against the Bears, the team said. Fozzy Whittaker and Chris Ogbonnaya will back up Reaves.
