Kippy Brown set to retire as Seahawks receivers coach

Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach Kippy Brown is set to retire after spending the last five seasons on the team’s coaching staff.

Brown has spent 21 seasons as a coach in the NFL with seven different teams. Brown coached running backs for the New York Jets (1990-92), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1995), Miami Dolphins (1996-97) and Green Bay Packers (2000), and wide receivers for the Houston Texans (2002-05), Detroit Lions (2006-07) and Seahawks.

He also spent two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Dolphins from 1998-99 and a year as the Lions assistant head coach and passing game coordinator in 2008.

Dave Canales is expected to take over for Brown as receivers coach for the Seahawks. Canales has served as an offensive quality control coach and assistant quarterbacks coach during his five seasons on the Seahawks’ coaching staff.
