After 12 seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Leonard Little became an unrestricted free agent at midnight. And although the defensive end is expected to draw interest from some NFL teams, he says he hasn’t given his next stop much thought.
“Right now, I’m not in a rush,” Little told the Charlotte Observer. “I’m not even thinking about football right now. I’m enjoying being a parent, a brother, whatever. I don’t know what the timetable will be.”
Little has previously indicated that he’ll play in 2010, and the Rams have said they want him back. The Redskins and Panthers are reportedly interested in his services as well.
Some teams may be hesitant to sign Little because he drove drunk and killed a woman in 1998, and he was arrested (and acquitted) for drunk driving again in 2004. But he insists that he’s a different person today.
“I’m now 35 years old. That happened when I was 22 turning 23,” he said. “I deal with that on a day-to-day basis and try to be the best person I can going forward. I try to educate people about not making that same decision I made.”
