Apparently, beggars can be choosers. Former Rams head coach Scott Linehan has declined an opportunity to become the offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers, according to Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. “It was nothing business-related,” Linehan told Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. “It was 100 percent not economic. They were great. Everything was done with the utmost class. It was more of a personal decision I had come to.” It’s unknown whether Linehan has anything else cooking. Before becoming head coach of the Rams, he served as offensive coordinator of the Vikings and the Dolphins. For the Niners, the other candidates include former Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski and Colts receivers coach Clyde Christensen.
