Injuries in the secondary are nothing new for the Lions, and they’ve had to shuffle the roster again to account for them.

The Lions placed rookie cornerback Bill Bentley on injured reserve, and brought back cornerback Don Carey, according to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com.

The bigger concern is the status of safety Louis Delmas, who continues to struggle with a knee problem.

Of course, when Lions coach Jim Schwartz was asked about the condition of Bentley and Delmas Wednesday, he linked them.

Both of them are probably the same,” Schwartz said. “Both of them are day-to-day, and they’re battling through some things that they’re working. Bentley’s shoulders and Louis’ knees.”

Bentley’s shown flashes, but hasn’t been able to stay on the field this year. The third-round pick had a concussion early, and the shoulder injury Oct. 14.
