Lions Sign Defensive End

Former Green Bay Packers defensive end Jason Hunter is staying in the NFC North. The veteran defensive end has signed with the Detroit Lions, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com. Hunter was cut recently by the Packers after signing with them in 2006 and playing in 42 games as a reserve defensive lineman. Per the report, Hunter wasn’t a great fit for the 3-4 defense being installed by new Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers. The Lions run a 4-3 as their primary defensive alignment. Last season, the 25-year-old former Appalachian State player recorded two sacks and nine tackles.
