McCoy hyperextends knee

McCoy

Last week, a question emerged regarding whether Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy suffered a dislocated kneecap. Ultimately a matter of semantics regarding whether the patella was dislocated or subluxated, the bone shifted and returned to its normal position before trainers wrapped the knee and allowed McCoy return to the game.

This week, McCoy injured the knee again. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it’s a hyperextension of the knee.

Don’t be surprised if McCoy doesn’t play again this season. With a significant financial investment in McCoy, it’s the smarter move. Having the No. 1 overall pick within reach makes it even smarter.
