It was our first reaction upon watching last night on NFL Network the Bears-Packers game from November 1985. Plenty of others who watched it probably felt the same way. William Perry, at the time one of the biggest players in the NFL, looked average by today’s standards -- and not nearly as puffy as many of the defensive and offensive linemen who now play the game. Many of the other players (such as Packers quarterback Jim Zorn) looked like guys the teams pulled out of the Lambeau Field crowd and slapped into uniforms that were at least one size too big. When the two teams get together again on Sunday, the difference will be significant -- and we’d love to see Marty McFly’s reaction if that Lamborghini DeLorean he first took for a spin in October 1985 came 23 years forward instead. If nothing else, Marty would benefit from Ted Sundquist’s scouting report for the game, which can be seen right here.
