The Texans can’t even turn to Plan C this week.
After losing Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Mallett to season-ending knee injuries, they won’t even be able to turn to rookie Tom Savage this week.
Per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Texans coach Bill O’Brien told reporters that Savage would miss this week and perhaps longer with a knee injury suffered yesterday against the Colts.
That leaves the Texans in the hands of either Thad Lewis or Case Keenum, who was brought back today after being cut by the team in the preseason.
“We’ll make a decision during the week who’s going to start against Baltimore,” O’Brien said.
That the Texans have milked a 7-7 record out of this season given that quarterback situation is a testament to O’Brien’s coaching and some of the talent he inherited from a 2-14 team a year ago.
