Null set for another go as Rams quarterback

Keith Null will get a second straight start for the Rams at quarterback on Sunday against the Texans.

The sixth-round pick out of West Texas A&M resembled his college quarterback coach Ryan Leaf in his NFL debut last week by throwing five interceptions, but injuries to Marc Bulger and Kyle Boller mean that Null gets another ride in the saddle. Boller is active and Mike Reilly will be the third quarterback.

Null will have Steven Jackson with him in the backfield. The running back, like seven other Rams, was listed as questionable because of the swine flu that got passed around the team this week. All of the Rams afflicted are active in today’s game. Starting defensive end Leonard Little, however, will miss the game because of a knee injury.

The Texans are at full strength in their attempt to keep a playoff light flickering on Sunday afternoon. Null’s presence in the lineup would seem to help that task, but the Rams have proven to be eminently defeatable no matter who is taking the snaps.
