The Packers said all week that they expected injured safety Morgan Burnett to return from a calf injury and play on Sunday night against the Bears. Now they’re not so sure.
The team announced on Saturday afternoon that Burnett has been downgraded and is now listed as questionable. There’s no word from the team on whether Burnett re-aggravated the injury, but that’s usually what would lead to a player being downgraded on the injury report.
If Burnett can’t go, that would be a blow to Green Bay’s defense. Burnett started the first seven games but missed Week Eight against the Saints, and the Packers’ defense missed him in the loss to New Orleans.
The Packers have also announced that they have signed offensive tackle Jamon Meredith to the active roster and placed receiver Kevin Dorsey on injured reserve.
