PFTV looks at the shipwreck in Tampa

As the pirate ship in the end zone of Raymond James Stadium continues to do its best imitation of the Lusitania, there has been no national outcry for accountability or change.

But maybe there should be.

The Bucs are awful. And it’s almost like they’re trying to be.

In January, coach Jon Gruden and G.M. Bruce Allen unexpectedly and unceremoniously were fired, with untested (and, arguably, unprepared) position coach Raheem Morris promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach without ever even presiding over a single offseason practice as defensive coordinator.

Then, the Bucs dumped a bunch of veteran salaries, creating a cap bulge as large as $80 million.

Then, they didn’t spend the money aggressively.

Then, Morris fired the offensive coordinator 10 days before Week One.

Then, they stunk.

Then, Morris fired the defensive coordinator during the season.

Now, they still stink.

In hindsight, it’s hard to believe that they won a game. And it’s as if that one win has kept the barbarians away from the gate.

So hooray for the Bucs -- they won’t go 0-16. But they deserve to be criticized. And so we do a little of it in one of our latest PFTV segments.
