Bruce Campbell is an Oakland Raider, just like everyone expected. He even went with the eighth pick, like many thought.
It just happened to be the eighth pick of the fourth round. The Maryland tackle blew up the combine and is an incredible size and speed prospect, and worth a shot this late in the draft.
This pick is a sign of a few emerging trends from this draft.
First, the Raiders have made rather sensible picks throughout. If they wanted Campbell, this was the spot to get him.
Second, perhaps Campbell’s sinking stock is a sign that teams are wising up not to overrate the Underwear Olympics.
Brandon Spikes ran one of the slowest forty-yard dash times in memory. He went in the second round to the Patriots.
Campbell was the biggest standout of the combine, but his game tape pushed him to day three.
