Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and tight end Zach Miller have been the best two players on the Raiders the last couple of years, and we don’t think it’s even debatable. (Which means a debate is coming.)
It appears the Raiders will have to face the Chiefs Sunday for their Biggest Game since 2002 without both of their cornerstones. Miller (foot) and Asomugha (ankle) both missed practice for a third consecutive day Friday, according to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune.
The Raiders are still fired up.
“Biggest I’ve played here in seven years,’' defensive lineman Tommy Kelly told SI’s Peter King. “No doubt about it. There’s a lot riding on this one.’'
With a win, the Raiders are in the AFC West race for good. A loss would put them three games behind the Chiefs in the loss column, which would be nearly impossible to recover from.
UPDATE: Both players are doubtful.
