Rams hire Nolan Cromwell as receivers coach

Before today, the St. Louis Rams didn’t have a receivers coach.

But now they do.

The team has announced that long-term NFL assistant coach Nolan Cromwell has gotten the job.

Cromwell returns to the NFL after spending two years at Texas A&M, where he served as offensive coordinator on Mike Sherman’s staff. Prior to that, Cromwell coached the receivers in Seattle for nine years, and he worked as receivers coach in 1998 and special teams coach from 1992 through 1997 in Green Bay.

Cromwell, a college quarterback at Kansas, played defensive back for 11 years with the Rams. He was named NFC defensive player of the year in 1980, and he made it to four Pro Bowls.
