Report: Jason Taylor close to joining the Jets

In the wake of a belated April Fool’s Day gag from Sid Rosenberg suggesting that defensive end Jason Taylor has signed with the Jets, Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that, indeed, the deal is “close to done.”

Per the report, the remaining issues for discussion are the extent to which Taylor will participate in the offseason program.

The contract, if signed, will be worth $3.45 million over two years -- $1.5 million in 2010 and $1.95 million in 2011.
