With cornerback Leigh Bodden on the market, the team for which he most recently played reportedly is making a strong push to get him to come back.

Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network reports that the Pats “are trying hard” to keep Bodden.

The Patriots offered him a multi-year deal in 2009, but he ultimately picked a one-year contract with a commitment that the team wouldn’t use the franchise tag on him.

LaCanfora says that the Steelers and Texans also are interested in Bodden; John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says that the inclusion of the Texans is “not true.”

Our guess is that Bodden’s agent is saying that the Texans are interested, and that McClain is plugged in to the thinking of the team that he covers as thoroughly as any beat writer does.
