SAINTS HONOR ROAF

The New Orleans Saints will honor their great offensive tackle Willie Roaf at halftime of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, after formally inducting him into the Saints Hall of Fame on Friday. And for Roaf, that’s not the only Hall of Fame induction he’s looking forward to joining. Roaf will almost certainly be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011, the first year he’s eligible, and he says he’ll be especially honored to be the first player who spent most of his career with the Saints to be inducted. “It will be special for New Orleans fans,” Roaf said. “I’ll go into the Hall of Fame as a Saint. There are no Saints in the Hall of Fame, so it will be great.” Roaf was the eighth overall pick of the 1993 draft and was an 11-time Pro Bowler.
