SHARPER IS FAKE HANDICAPPED?

Vikings safety Darren Sharper, whose Sunday already was bad enough after he failed to recover a Falcons fumble in his own end zone because he apparently was thinking of sprinting 100 yards to the other one, made things worse for himself while making a weekly appearance on FOX 9 in the Twin Cities.

Per the writer known only as “C.J.” of the Minneapolis Star Tribune (via Sports By Brooks), Sharper parked his SUV in a handicapped spot. C.J., whose most recent work of note involved harvesting quotes from tight end Visanthe Shiancoe about the cameo appearance of his manhood on network television, noticed Sharper’s vehicle in a handicapped parking spot at the station. She confirmed that it was Sharper’s SUV, and she asked the team’s P.R. guy, Bob Hagan, about it. “Awww, are you going to go after him?” Hagan said. “Did he know it was that spot?” Then C.J. showed Hagan video of the incident. “All right,” Hagan said. “Nothing I can do. But he’s a very good guy. He does a lot of really good [charity] stuff. Obviously, if he did it, he did it. It was probably some misunderstanding.” Yeah, the “misunderstanding” would be the typical pro athlete/celebrity belief that the rules applicable to the rest of the world don’t operate in theirs.

As we see it, the only plausible explanation would be that Sharper is fake handicapped, a la Costanza and his tenure at Play Now. And, as we all know, that one didn’t end well.
