Steelers Sporting Their Super Bowl Rings

The Pittsburgh Steelers were awarded their Super Bowl XLIII rings during a ceremony Tuesday night, receiving some serious bling. These rings are twice as large as their last Super Bowl ring, according to John Harris of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Per the report, the ring includes six diamonds surrounding the Steelers’ logo to signify that it’s the franchise’s sixth Super Bowl title. And the ring also has a football design with 32 diamonds, features the score of the Steelers’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals, has six Lombardi trophies propped above Heinz Field as well as each players’ jersey and name, the Steelers’ helmet and the NFL logo. “James Farrior helped design it,” safety Ryan Clark said. “He said it was big, maybe too big. I think it’s perfect. You saw a bunch of grown men act like kids. “It was kind of like Christmas. You know what you’re going to get, but you never know how excited you’re going to be until you open that box.’' Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the Most Valuable Player of the Super Bowl, said he has no plans to take off his ring anytime soon. Holmes, who caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger, has the letters, “MVP” engraved on his ring. “I’ll probably wear it the whole night,” Holmes said. “I’ll probably end up sleeping with it.”
