Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has said he’s thinking about not showing up for Media Day. Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Lynch’s teammates think Beast Mode won’t be a no-show.
Per Werder, other Seahawks think that Lynch will keep his answers short, possibly to only one word.
As Werder explains it, Lynch thinks he has been misquoted and misrepresented by the media, which makes him want to cooperate on a limited basis.
Regardless of whether Lynch’s perception meshes with reality, periodic media cooperation comes with the NFL lifestyle that pays Lynch so handsomely. If he fails to show up on Tuesday, or if he decides eventually during the one-hour session to clam up, he could be paying the NFL handsomely, to the tune of $100,000.
