Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has never been shy about saying he hates the Patriots. He also says he’s not alone.
In an interview with Boston radio station WEEI, Suggs said that players on his team, other teams -- and every team -- despise the Patriots.
“There are 32 teams in the NFL. I guarantee the other 31 hate the New England Patriots. It ain’t just me. Why did Bart Scott say the same thing? You think it’s just us? You think it’s got something to do with us? No,” Suggs said.
Suggs said he doesn’t think the Patriots show enough respect to other teams, and he also said the NFL only started cracking down on defensive players hitting quarterbacks in the knee after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered a season-ending knee injury. On that front, Suggs didn’t seem to realize that low hits on quarterbacks were already against the rules when Brady suffered a serious knee injury, although the NFL did tighten up those rules after Bernard Pollard wasn’t flagged on the hit that ended Brady’s 2008 season in Week One.
But details like that are less important to Suggs than this general sentiment: He hates the Patriots, and he thinks he has the vast majority of the NFL on his side.
