Earlier this week, there was a report that the Titans were going to hire Terry Robiskie as their new offensive coordinator.
During a Monday press conference, head coach Mike Mularkey confirmed that Jason Michael would be moving from coordinator to quarterbacks coach but didn’t announce any other moves. The Titans still haven’t made an official announcement, but Robiskie’s gone ahead and saved them the trouble.
Robiskie confirmed with D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he will be leaving his job as Falcons wide receivers coach to join Mularkey’s staff. The two men worked together in Atlanta when Mularkey was the Falcons offensive coordinator from 2008 to 2011 and Robiskie was in Atlanta for eight years overall. Wideout Devin Hester says he’ll be missed.
“His coaching style was to make things as easy as possible for you,” Hester said, via ESPN.com. “Everything he did, he wanted to make it easier for the player to understand.”
Robiskie played five seasons in the NFL and moved into a coaching role with the Raiders in 1982. He’s changed teams and jobs many times, including previous stints as both an offensive coordinator and interim head coach, in his three decades-plus as a pro coach.
