The Texans re-signed offensive tackle Andrew Gardner on Friday, the club said.
Gardner (6-6, 309) appeared in three games a season ago. He’s likely to vie for a reserve tackle role. Gardner was not tendered as a restricted free agent by Houston before being brought back.
Gardner, 26, was a sixth-round pick of the Dolphins in 2009. He was a collegiate and high school teammate of Calvin Johnson, with both attending Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Ga., then moving on to Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
