Titans Sign Seventh-Round Pick

Former North Dakota State safety Nick Schommer, the Tennessee Titans’ seventh-round pick, has reached an agreement on a four-year contract, according to Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper. Schommer, who intercepted 13 career passes, is the first of the Titans’ 11 draft picks to agree to terms. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but Schommer’s agent said that the deal was in the neighborhood of other rookie contracts. “Most teams want to start at the back and work their way forward,” said Ken Staninger, who represents Schommer. “I’ve had a really good relationship with the Titans over the years. They were really fair. “It took a couple of weeks to get over some of the hurdles, but we feel good about it, and I’m sure the Titans feel good about Nick. There’s really no need in waiting if you can get something done today.”
