Well, at least we got our first major screw up of the year out of the way on January 1. We reported on Thursday night that Browns defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will be interviewing with the Jets. Our source contacted us this morning to clarify the situation. When the source told us that Tucker would be interviewing “in New York,” we assumed that the source meant that the interview would be with the Jets. The more accurate story is that Tucker will be interviewing with the Browns “in New York,” since that’s where owner Randy Lerner lives and where he has been conducted many of the head-coaching interviews. But since it already had been reported that the Browns would be interviewing Tucker, we simply assumed that our source wasn’t giving us old news. We apologize for the misinformation.
