Possibly buoyed by the news that the team has a new owner in former NFL quarterback Joe Theismann (or possibly not), the Florida Tuskers of the UFL halted a two-game losing streak with a 33-20 win over the Hartford Colonials on Saturday afternoon.
The home team pulled with 23-20 on a touchdown scored with fewer than 10 minutes to play. The Tuskers thereafter pulled away, scoring the final 10 points.
Florida running back Dominic Rhodes gained 99 yards on 19 carries, including the final touchdown of the night. The Tuskers are 2-2; the Colonials fell to 1-2.
The Tuskers forced four turnovers on the night. A far more fitting honor for the new boss, however, would have been to break the leg of Hartford quarterback Josh McCown.
