Broncos coach Josh McDaniels has said that Tim Tebow will be a quarterback, and only a quarterback. While there’s no reason to doubt the position at which the rookie first-rounder line up, it looks like McDaniels plans to use Tebow for a function other than passing the ball.
In video of Tebow’s first NFL practice session posted at NFL.com, Tebow is engaged in drills aimed at preparing him to run with the football.
It doesn’t mean that Tebow will play running back. But it strongly suggests that, as a quarterback, he’ll likely be running the ball from time to time.
UPDATE: Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post advises that all offensive players perform this same drill, including other quarterbacks. We wonder whether Kyle Orton has ever accomplished it without falling down.
