The Vikings dumped a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick on Saturday. A day later, they’re back -- in a different capacity.
The team has announced that guard Willie Beavers and receiver Moritz Böhringer has been added to the practice squad.
Beavers was the highest draft pick that didn’t make a 53-man roster. Böhringer never played college football but performed very well in Germany. Both are eligible to be signed by any team’s active roster. The Vikings likely hope that, eventually, they’ll be good enough to contribute.
The Vikings also signed tight end Kyle Carter, guard Isame Faciane, running back C.J. Ham, defensive tackle Toby Johnson, cornerback Tre Roberson, quarterback Joel Stave, and defensive end Stephen Weatherly to the practice squad. That’s nine; all teams can have up to 10.
