WARD HAS “SLIGHT” MCL SPRAIN

The Ravens had been trying to get Steelers Hines Ward for the past few years. They finally got him, though they envisioned something a bit more forceful. Ward suffered a knee injury while being tackled in the first half of Sunday night’s AFC title game. He returned for a bit, but then left for the rest of the game. Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ward has a “slight” MCL sprain in his right knee. If it truly is a slight sprain, Ward undoubtedly will play in Super Bowl XLIII. Until they’re sure that he’ll be available, it might be wise to teach rookie Limas Sweed how to, you know, catch a football.
