WARD IS QUESTIONABLE

The official NFL injury report is out, and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is questionable with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Although Ward hasn’t practiced all week after getting hurt in first half of the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens, he has guaranteed he will play in the Super Bowl against the Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, Cardinals running back J.J. Arrington missed a second consecutive practice with a right knee injury and is listed as questionable. Arrington is “optimistic” about practicing next week and playing in the game. Cardinals hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker Travis LaBoy is dealing with a left biceps tendon injury and is hoping to test out a specially-designed brace as soon as Saturday. Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin (hamstring) has participated fully in practice this week and has been designated as probable. The Cardinals listed punter Ben Graham (groin) and defensive end Antonio Smith (knee) are questionable, but aren’t expected to miss the game. Steelers linebacker Patrick Bailey (hamstring) is questionable. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (back), center Justin Hartwig (knee), offensive tackle Max Starks (knee), running back Mewelde Moore (ankle) and linebacker Lawrence Timmons (illness) are all listed as probable. Meanwhile, Arizona Republic beat writer Kent Somers reports that Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Demps and defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley were fined $7,500 and $5,000 by the league office, respectively, for late hits on quarterback Kurt Warner in the NFC title game.
